A tour of the “land of the gods” yields lifetime memories and narrowly avoids tragedy My trip to Ancient Egypt began several months before my departure when my Ken expressed interest in going to Egypt. I was very excited about returning to Egypt as I had been there once before. A map of our hotel boat trip up the NILE -
Egypt has always been a special place for me. There is no other pglace like it in the world. My first trip to Egypt was on business and what should have been a six week project turned into a six month project. I loved every minute of it. It was an adventure. When Ken expressed interest that he wanted to go, I quickly started the ball rolling. There were concerns however, would Egypt again capture my fascination or would this be a stroll down a "been there, done that" path. Would Ken see the things that I saw? Did I love Egypt because of the place or because of the times and people. These questions would be answered shortly. Concerns set aside, I agreed to go and looked forward to it. As with the trip before, I immediately started to learning all I could about Ancient Egypt. I didn't want to stand in front of ancient treasures and walk through temples without understanding their importance. Although I had learned quite a bit on my first trip, some of the details had been forgotten. I also planned out extra time before and after the tour to relax and soak in the atmosphere. The time spent before and after the tour made for some of the most memorable moments of the trip.
WE ARE ON OUR WAY!
